Quickstart

Zubby AI is a 24/7 sales agent and shopping assistant that lives inside your Shopify or WooCommerce store. It reads your live catalog, answers shopper questions, recommends products, and rescues abandoned carts — all with full citations back to the source pages it pulled from. This page gets you from zero to your first live conversation in roughly five minutes.

What Zubby does for you

Think of Zubby as a senior product expert who never sleeps. It does four things really well:

  • Answers product questions in context — sizing, materials, compatibility, shipping, returns — grounded in your real catalog and policies, never hallucinated.
  • Recommends what to buy — using semantic retrieval across your products, customer reviews, and order history. The agent can compare items, build bundles, and check inventory live.
  • Rescues carts and browse sessions — drafting on-brand emails (and SMS / WhatsApp / Telegram, on plans that include them) when a shopper drops off without checking out.
  • Hands off to humans on demand — when an issue is out of scope, the AI routes the conversation to your inbox with full context.

Prerequisites

You need three things before connecting a store. None of them takes more than a minute, but skipping any one will block setup.

  1. A Zubby account — sign up at /register. The free trial covers up to 1,000 AI conversations per month for 14 days.
  2. Admin access to your store — for Shopify, the user installing the app needs the Apps permission. For WooCommerce, you need to be a WordPress administrator.
  3. One open browser tab — Shopify’s OAuth flow can redirect to a window that gets blocked by an aggressive ad blocker. Pause it for the install if you’re on a hardened browser.

Multi-store accounts

If you run multiple storefronts, create one Zubby account and add each store as a separate tenant. Billing and analytics are scoped per store, so you can compare performance side by side from the same login.

Five-minute setup

The fastest path looks like this. Each step links to a deeper page if you want full detail; otherwise just follow the numbered list.

  1. 1

    Create your account

Sign up with email and password or use a Google/Microsoft single sign-on. You’ll be prompted to verify your email before the dashboard unlocks. Detailed walkthrough at Create your account.
  2. 2

    Connect a store

From Dashboard → Connect store, choose Shopify or WooCommerce. Shopify is a one-click OAuth install; WooCommerce is a WordPress plugin you pair with a setup code. See Connect your first store.
  3. 3

    Wait for the first sync

Zubby fetches your products, variants, pages, and policies — then generates embeddings so the AI can retrieve them by meaning. Stores with 1,000 SKUs finish in under three minutes; 50,000 SKUs in roughly twenty.
  4. 4

    Test the widget

Open Dashboard → Widget → Preview. Type a question your customers might ask — for example, “Do you ship to Canada?” or “What’s the best gift under $50?”. You should get an answer with citations within a couple of seconds.
  5. 5

    Embed it on your storefront

For Shopify, enable the App Embed block in your active theme. For WooCommerce, the plugin auto-injects the widget — but you can also paste the universal snippet on any page. See Embed codes.

What good looks like

After ninety minutes of usage you should see real signals in Dashboard → Analytics:

  • Engagement rate — the percentage of visitors who opened the widget. A healthy floor on first-time storefronts is 6-12%.
  • Assisted conversions — orders attributable to a Zubby conversation in the last 7 days, with shopper journey visible end-to-end.
  • Retrieval coverage — the share of questions answered with at least one strong citation. Below 70% means it’s time to add policies or FAQs to the knowledge base.

Quickstart cheatsheet

Hate reading? Run this in your head:

bash
# 1. Sign up
open https://zubbyai.com/register

# 2. From dashboard, click "Connect store"
# Choose Shopify (one-click) or WooCommerce (plugin + setup code).

# 3. Wait for the catalog sync to finish (status bar bottom-right).

# 4. Open Dashboard → Widget → Preview and ask a real question.

# 5. Push to live: enable theme block (Shopify) or copy embed snippet.

Next steps

Once the widget is live, the highest-ROI things to do next are:

  • Define your brand voice so the AI sounds like you.
  • Upload your policies and FAQs — shipping, returns, sizing guides, gift cards.
  • Configure your first recovery journey so abandoned carts get rescued automatically.
